FAQs

Who would benefit from Botox® treatment?

In accordance with NICE guidelines, you should be able to have Botox® if you have chronic migraine (that is, you have headaches on at least 15 days each month, with migraine on at least 8 of these days) and:

  • you have already tried at least three different drug treatments to prevent your chronic migraine headaches, but these have not worked and
  • you are not taking too many painkillers or using them too often

It is essential that you are cleared by your doctor or neurologist for any other symptoms that might be the cause of your headaches / migraines.

Is the treatment painful?

Most clients experience very mild discomfort. At kings Skin Clinic all treatments are carried out by medical practitioners who are very experienced in treating the head and neck area. We are are often praised for our gentle manner and approach.

For those that are very nervous, we also offer numbing cream for maximum comfort.

When do I notice the results?

It usually takes 7-14 days before you feel the effects. Some people however, do say they notice the change within days!

We would also offer a follow-up appointment to monitor your progress.

How many treatments will I need?

That really depends on the individual, but 3 or 4 times a year will normally ensure that the treatment is working continually.

Will I need to take time off work?

No, the treatment will take about 15 to 20 minutes and afterwards you can get on with your day.

Can I talk to someone about the procedure?

Yes. Here at Kings Skin Clinic we are happy to discuss any questions you have about any of the treatments we offer. Just give us a call or contact us via our website to book a free consultation.
