Benefits of Fotona laser:
- Medical grade laser
- High-precision, tissue-selective treatments
- Less invasive
- Safer treatments for all skin types
- Shorter downtime
- Greater comfort and satisfaction
How does laser work?
Laser beams penetrate the hair follicle in growth stage with light energy destroying it at its roots whilst preserving surrounding skin.
Is laser suitable for everyone?
Hair removal is suitable for most skin types and most effective for light skin tone with dark hair.
Laser hair removal is not effective on white or grey hairs. It is advisable to postpone treatment for at least six weeks following a period of direct sun exposure to the skin.
Is it painful?
Utilising the latest laser skin treatment technology, most clients can easily tolerate the Fotona laser with minimal discomfort.
Anaesthetic is not required for laser hair removal.
Is it safe?
Fotona is a medical grade laser with a high-precision action. It has a very high safety profile, whilst being clinically very effective.
Side effects are rare. Some clients may experience a slight reddening or local swelling at the treatment site, which resolves within hours. Other infrequent side effects include blistering, bruising or pigmentation of the skin.
What happens after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment normal activities can be resumed. We recommend limiting sun exposure and the use of adequate sun protection before and after each treatment to protect skin following a laser treatment.
When will I notice the results?
With the treatment complete you may notice that the hairs are still present in the targeted hair follicles. These will shed within 1-2 weeks with the renewal of the epidermis. During this time the hair will appear to be growing – don’t worry, this is normal. It will simply fall out as it is naturally pushed out by epidermal layer.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually a course of 3-6 treatments preformed 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results.
Additional treatments may be needed for fine, sparse hair resistant to first cycle of treatment.
